PFAS-Free

1. Our Commitment

At YL Textile, we are committed to eliminating PFAS risks from the source.
We do not simply replace fluorinated chemicals — we redesign our entire production system to ensure:

  • No intentional use of PFAS

  • Strict contamination control

  • Verified compliance through standardized testing

Our goal is to provide fabrics that are both high-performance and compliant with global regulations, including requirements from European Union standards.

2. Raw Material & Chemical Control

We implement a strict input control system:

  • All raw materials, chemicals, coatings, and membranes are screened before use

  • Any materials containing or related to PFAS (including fluoropolymers, PTFE, or fluorinated compounds) are strictly prohibited

  • Suppliers must provide:

    • Technical Data Sheets (TDS)

    • Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

    • PFAS-free declarations

We do not rely solely on documentation — high-risk materials are subject to internal review and testing.

3. PFAS-Free Process Engineering

Our manufacturing processes are designed to eliminate fluorine-based inputs:

  • Use of C0 (fluorine-free) water repellent technologies

  • Adoption of non-fluorinated coating and finishing systems

  • Optimization of fabric structure (high-density weaving, lamination alternatives) to maintain performance

We understand that PFAS historically provided multiple functions (water, oil, and stain repellency).
Our approach focuses on performance re-engineering, not simple substitution.

4. Membrane & Lamination Control

PFAS risks are especially high in membrane-based fabrics.
We strictly control this segment:

  • No use of PTFE or fluoropolymer-based membranes

  • Use of alternative technologies such as:

    • TPU

    • ePU

    • ePE

  • Adhesives and lamination materials are also verified as PFAS-free

Each batch of laminated fabric is traceable and subject to verification.

5. Production & Contamination Control

To prevent cross-contamination, we implement strict facility management:

  • Dedicated production lines or controlled separation for PFAS-free production

  • Independent storage and handling of approved chemicals

  • Strict cleaning and validation procedures for machines and tools

  • No shared equipment with PFAS-based production without verified cleaning protocols

Whenever possible, we aim for facility-wide PFAS phase-out.

6. Water & Process Control

  • No use of recycled water from high-risk processes

  • Clean water systems for PFAS-free production

  • Strict control of auxiliary chemicals (softeners, surfactants, additives)

  • Alignment with industry frameworks such as ZDHC MRSL guidelines

7. Testing & Verification

We follow a multi-layer verification system:

Screening Tests

  • Total fluorine screening to detect potential fluorine presence

Target Analysis

  • Specific PFAS compound testing based on international standards

Testing Stages

  • Development samples

  • Pre-production approval

  • Bulk production (batch-level verification)

We work with globally recognized laboratories such as:

  • SGS

  • Intertek

  • Bureau Veritas

8. Compliance Statement

Our PFAS-free fabrics follow the principles of:

  • No Intentional Use of PFAS

  • PFAS Not Detected (ND) based on standardized testing methods

We acknowledge that PFAS is a broad chemical group, and therefore apply both preventive control and analytical verification to ensure compliance.

9. Continuous Improvement

We continuously improve our PFAS-free system by:

  • Updating chemical management standards

  • Monitoring regulatory developments

  • Collaborating with global testing and certification bodies

  • Investing in new non-fluorinated performance technologies

10. Our Value to You

We do not just supply fabric — we help you:

  • Reduce compliance risks

  • Meet evolving regulatory requirements

  • Maintain performance without fluorinated chemistry

  • Protect your brand reputation

PFAS-Free is not a compromise — it is a smarter, future-ready solution.
